Firdavs Tolibzoda was appointed Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan in January 2024. As Chairman, he leads the Bank in close coordination with the Board, ensuring the effective execution of its mandates and overall institutional performance. He has built a distinguished career at the National Bank since 2003, beginning as an economist in banking supervision and progressing through senior roles focused on regulatory development, financial analysis, and oversight of banking and non-banking institutions. He later served as Head of the Analysis and Licensing Division and Deputy Director of the Banking Supervision Department. Appointed Deputy Chairman in 2021 and First Deputy Chairman in 2022, he oversaw key areas including monetary policy, financial stability, international relations, and insurance supervision. Firdavs holds a bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Eastern Mediterranean University (2003) and received his master’s degree from GRIPS in 2010. He is also a recipient of the “Excellent Worker of the National Bank of Tajikistan” award and is fluent in English, Russian, and Turkish.
